A stock auction sale will be held at the fair grounds on Saturday at 3 p m where many prize winners are to be sold at public auction. A large crowd of buyers is expected for stock offered representing the best in this section of Texas.
For visitors the fair plans a brilliant ice display on the fair grounds this evening at 0 o'clock. Do not miss this splendid attraction sponsored by the fair management.
The Boston Red Sox of the American League claimed the title with a 4 to 1 victory over Brooklyn, earning back-to-back championships and the fifth overall since 1903. R. H. Moore and family retire from a long trip visiting Hereford and Roswell, spanning 1235 miles in a Saxon car with minimal repairs. Ira Tunnell joins a visit with her parents at Roslyn.
Ir. O. R. Houghton departed Wednesday for Rotan on business. Mrs. G. L. Davis of Haskell visiting her daughter Mrs. G. S. Parke this week.
Woodmen from county camps gather for Woodmen Day with state lecturer Mark Wigginton of Hillsboro delivering a Woodcraft talk. Mercer's Gap degree team wins a $25 gold medal for floor work and attendance, boosting the camp to 94 members with a spotless suspension record. W. R. Waldrop serves as consul commander and G. McKinzie as clerk of Comanche county’s banner camp.
E. C. Abbey wed Miss Bernice Kelly. Johnney Hurt married Miss Charlie Masters. Ira Nichols and Miss Flora Helen Williams obtained licenses.

The Thursday gun club shoot drew a large crowd and offered six regular events plus a special. Brownwood and Comanche competitors lined up for prizes including hunting knives, gold medals, shells, cigars, and cases of field shells. The highlight was a close special event where Brownwood beat Comanche by 24 rocks to 23.
