Farm income puts Comanche County in economic limelight
Special to The Chief reports Comanche County farmers fared better than many, due mainly to higher output rather than prices. County gross receipts reached 15 980 009 in the past year, up 18.6 percent from three years ago, with 62 percent from livestock and dairy and 38 percent from crops. Government payments and consumption of home-grown goods also contribute. Middlemen capture a large share of the rise in prices.
