Harris later won district honors at Stephenville.

The Central Christian Church plans a Sunday morning ceremony October 9 to honor Rev. C. C. Klingman with a gold pin for more than fifty years in the Christian ministry. He will deliver the morning message after the presentation. Klingman retired Sept. 1, 1958 after serving nine Christian Churches in Texas and twenty two years at Central Christian Church in two pastorates. He and his wife Minnie Cunningham returned to Comanche after retirement. Born in Louisville Kentucky he studied at Potter Bible College and was sent to Japan in 1908 by the Church of Christ.
Neely Burton aged 83 or 84 died at his Comanche home Sept 30. Funeral held Oct 1 at Oak Lawn with Rev. Chambers and other ministers officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Survived by widow Dollie Whitehead Burton and four sons J H Tiny, Randle, Tom, Burton. five grandchildren.
The J. B. Layne Parent-Teacher Association will meet Tuesday October 11 at 2 30 pm in the school auditorium. Third Grade classes under Miss Ollie Sloan Miss Berta Goodson and Mrs Elza Brinson will present the program a play titled Miss Liberty.
