Littlefield Will Pledges Big Gift to University of Texas
Major George W. Littlefield’s will, filed in Travis County, leaves the estate valued over 8 million to widow Alice P. Littlefield with about 1.5 million in specific bequests to relatives. The University of Texas will receive more than 1 million in total, including 500,000 for building after Mrs. Littlefield’s death, 200,000 for a memorial arch, 100,000 for a history project, 250,000 for a dormitory, and the Littlefield home after Mrs. Littlefield’s death. A life provision provides for Nathan Littlefield Stokes with weekly pocket money and burial in the Littlefield grounds.

Texas Industrial Commission Sets $12 Week Minimum for Women and Minors
The Texas Industrial Commission in Austin announced a blanket minimum wage of 12 per week for women and minors in telephone companies laundries factories and mercantile establishments. The scale becomes operative February 7, 1921 and employers providing meals may deduct 20 cents per meal. Apprentice rates of 15 cents per hour in months one to six and 20 cents per hour in months seven to twelve were set.
