President Wilson designates November 25 as a day of thanksgiving and prayer urging citizens to cease ordinary tasks. The proclamation recalls wartime sacrifices and the return to peace, calling for gratitude, service, and reflection on divine blessings.
A union Thanksgiving service is planned at the Presbyterian church next Thursday at 10 a m. Rev W J Morphis the new pastor of the Methodist church will deliver the sermon.
Arthur R. Eidson of Hamilton, one of the defense attorneys, has been here since Sunday attending district court during the Briscoe case trial this week.
The Comanche Indians, undefeated this season and giving up no points, travel to meet Cleburne and coach Ernst in what local paper calls the most important Texas high school game this week. Cleburne, led by coach Ernst, won 35 to 0 over North Fort Worth last week and aims to extend its streak.
Kansas City November the secretary of the treasury and the federal reserve board dealt a body blow to farmers by insisting price declines are inevitable despite protests. Charles S. Barrett, president of the National Farmers Union, told the convention that farmers must sacrifice unlike any other industry and will not yield to interests labeling deflation artificial and unnecessary.
Clarence Ousley will return to Texas A and M College as a former director of Extension and former assistant Secretary of Agriculture. He will lecture on Government and Citizenship at the college this winter and aid the extension agricultural program for 1920.

Located off the southwest corner of the square, a small admission will be charged with Legion sharing proceeds to aid ex soldiers.
Rev. Forrest Maddox officiated last Sunday as W. A. Harder and Maggie Haynes, both of De Leon, were married at the Baptist parsonage. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Pittman of De Leon, daughter of Mrs. M. A. Haynes and a Higginbotham employee. Friends extend hearty congratulations.
Eighteen players and coaches Bert Speed and John Reese departed Frisco yesterday for Cleburne to face the local high school in a statewide important football game. The winner will vie for the central west Texas championship and a state title shot. About a hundred Comanche fans plan to attend as the squad, in prime condition, seeks a decisive victory today.
W R Parker of Comanche, a leading Meadows and Company salesman, won first and second prizes among eighteen traveling representatives. Three prizes totaling 100.00 were awarded, with Parker receiving 50.00 and 30.00, reflecting his popularity and proven salesmanship as customers praise his ability to "deliver the goods."

A later match between the high school and the Legion ended 13 to 0 in favor of the Legion with proceeds shared between the teams. The Legion proved dominant against the top Texas high school eleven, though the schoolboys battled hard.
Wednesday dubbed Turkey day in Hasse county as Ward Pierce of a Dublin produce house bought over a thousand birds amid a price war with a Brownwood firm pushing prices to 30 cents. John Writts sold $147.60 in birds and one man earned $9110 from selling 20 turkeys. It pays to raise turkeys.
San Antonio report outlines Democratic efforts to redraw the 14th Congressional District next session in January. The plan would remove Kendall, Comal and Guadalupe counties to dilute Republican Harri M Wurzbach s reelection bid while adding Galveston Brazoria Matagorda Calhoun and Refugio counties creating a long L shaped chain nearly 200 miles long. Wurzbach dismisses changes noting he will move residence if needed. He is currently deer hunting and reportedly has two large bucks.
J M McPherson aged 81 died at his daughter Mrs J C Sparka’s home in Hamilton last Saturday night and was buried at Pottsville on Monday. He had lived in the county many years and was highly esteemed. Relatives in Co Manche attended the funeral including Bart McPherson, W T Me Pherson and wife, and Mrs Cunningham. Granddaughter Mrs Lon Boynton also attended.
The Chief erred last week claiming the city attorney visited the Cotton Palace in Waco. It was another Graham who attended, while the city attorney remained at home continuing routine duties with the rest of the community.
Sunrise ing service group including Baptists and others will meet at the Tabernacle Thursday at 7:00 a.m. The tabernacle will be warm and comfortable and the service will close with a 20 minute address by Maddox.
