James Milton West longtime Comanche resident dies at a Fort Worth sanitarium after a lengthy illness. Born September 25 1856 in Fayette county Mississippi he married Kate Humphries in 1878 and raised six children. He belonged to the Methodist church and worked as a traveling salesman for Western Buyers and Brokerage Co. His funeral was held at Oakwood cemetery with Rev. Tenny officiating.

Uncle John Damron dies at 91 in Blanket Texas
John Henry Damron known as Uncle John died just before four o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his Blanket home after a paralytic stroke two weeks earlier. He lived 29 years in the area and was a Confederate veteran with Civil War service. Funeral and burial at Zephyr were led by Masons with Rev Z T Blanton delivering a biographical sketch of his life. He left a wife Elizabeth Melugin and later Nancy A Blanton, with several children and many loved ones.
