About 100 people attended a mass meeting at the Comanche High School Building. Delegates endorsed Bill Corry of Keller for Commissioner of Agriculture and urged writing his name on the Independent ballot. Speakers urged voting for Wendell Willkie and noted McCampbell supports. Congressman-Elect Sam Russell spoke as the principal address, amid rain.

Nine year old boy kills big rattler in county
Joe Robert Whiteside nine, son of Mr and Mrs J P Whiteside of Sipe Springs, killed a large rattlesnake on the E A Whiteside Ranch north of Sipe Springs near the Eastland Comanche line. The snake had fifteen rattlers and a button and was about five and a half feet long. He found it while riding the range looking after the Whiteside sheep.

Fred Vineyard dies from gasoline explosion burns
Fred Vineyard, 26, a former Comanche County resident, died in Carlsbad New Mexico last Thursday from burns when gasoline exploded while he poured fluid into a truck carburetor. He worked at a Carlsbad service station and was to start the truck for a customer. The body returned to Comanche for services at Taylor's Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Will Clarke and Rev. Gordon Barrett. He was born in Taylor's Chapel, married July 27 1935 to Georgia Matthews, and is survived by a two month old son Jerry Dee, his parents Mr and Mrs Sam Vineyard, five brothers Charlie A E Jack Hoyt and Bill, and two sisters Mrs Annie Sledge and Mrs Odessa Haines.
