Durham firm ships Comanche county berries to Houston firm
The Durham Pecan and Peanut Cannery in Comanche County reported its largest single day run on May 27 with over 15 000 cans of berries produced and shipped to Houston Jam and Preserving Company. Walter Durham, plant manager, said the firm expects to process up to 250 000 pounds this season despite late freezes. The Houston company has bought 100 barrels of berries from Durham and plans jams and preserves. Production operates on specific days this and next weeks depending on berry supply.

Big Fish Caught At Lake Banes
Mr and Mrs Charlie Williams reportedly set a season record with a thirteen pound catfish at Lake Banes early Friday. The next day Williams added a four pound cat. Other catches include a three pound cat by Mr and Mrs Roy Pope and a tale of a 242 pound bass landing in a boat.
