Clyde Graham son of Lige Graham and grandson of J. B. Simmons was shot to death near his brother's home between Custer and Gorman. W. J. Carter, a 25 year old widower, was arrested and indicted for murder after a prior confrontation and a gun shown to the victim by a visiting Miss Bertha King. Dallas May 27 A 24 year old telephone operator Miss Norment borrowed a dime from a friend to buy carbolic acid and was found dying in a rest room of her employer. Relatives could not explain the act. A Cleburne brother in law arrived to claim the body. Her mother lives in Bastrop. She formerly lived in Dallas and worked at the local telephone office.
