Landscape Tour Under Rain Delays by H D Club
County wide Home Demonstration Club landscape tour faced a rainy start on Monday May 10 with three cars participating. Dinner was served at Newburg school ground by Mrs Herbert Lee with fried chicken angel food cake home made ice cream and iced tea. Mrs Jesse Reese of Newburg sent lunch but could not attend due to illness. The tour bypassed Mrs Cliff Pettit's site because of more showers and ended early though all visited locations showed progress in their landscape programs.

John Alvin Evett of Sipe Springs died May 17 at age 74 years 4 months and 14 days. Funeral at Sidney Church of Christ with Leon Meek presiding. Interment Ferrill Ranch Cemetery between Sidney and Comanche. Born January 3 1869 in Milton Illinois. Married Emma Battershell April 10 1892. she died September 7 1897. Survivors include son George W Evett, grandson Clarence Lee Evett, a sister in Georgia and two brothers in Colorado and Washington. He preached with the Church of Christ earlier in life.

White Point Home Demonstration Club Sees Active April
The White Point Home Demonstration Club met twice in April with strong attendance. New member Mrs. Sammy Shoemaker joined at the April 20 meeting. The club completed a quilt for Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Croker after their home burned, cleaned the cemetery, and planted shrubbery on church grounds, alongside regular programs. The club invites volunteers to join the effort.
