Norrid Dies at Home in Comanche County

B D Norrid age 60 died at home after a ten day illness. Funeral services were led by Rev BE Gregory Jr and minister Doone Klingman with other ministers. Edward David Norrid born Feb 28 1874 in Coryell County son of J A Norrid and Frances McDonald Norrid. He married Azalee Roe June 19 1907 and had twins Johnnie and Connie. Survived by two grandchildren, sister Mrs Martha Lemons, Mrs Laura Durham, brother-in-law Jim Roe, and relatives in Amarillo Dallas Austin Uvalde Brownwood and Gustine. He farmed in Mercer Gap and Harmony communities and sold subscriptions to The Chief in later years. He joined First Baptist Church of Comanche as a child. Out-of-town mourners listed.

Comanche Resident Mrs. N. E. Palmer Dies

Mrs. N. E. Palmer, longtime Comanche resident since 1892, dies at 76. Survived by eight grandchildren and several children including Frank Palmer, former County Tax Assessor now with Coca Cola Bottling in Brownwood, and Evan Palmer. She joined the Comanche Church as a child and remained a member throughout her life.

Funeral Rites Held Here For Mrs. Cora Warren of Silsbee

Mrs. Cora Warren of Silsbee died May 15 1943 after a fall and illness. She was married to Henry Warren in 1884 and lived in Silsbee for 34 years. Survived by three grandchildren Lt Eugene Lott Mrs F J Pricke of Wilmington Delaware and Mrs R A Major of Fort Worth and a great grandson Frederick Fricke Jr. She was a Methodist and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services conducted by Dr C Klingman of the Saatas Christian Church included songs Rock of Ages and Nearer My God To Thee.

Indian Green Sunshine Club Meeting Notes

The Indian Green sunshine Club met with Mrs. Carpenter and later with Mrs. Beulah Cleere. Eight members attended the April 8 session with a covered dish, and visitors were present. An all day meeting on April 22 included Olea Gober and others, with no business conducted.

Fairview Quilting Club Meets With Mrs Power

Fairview Quilting Club members met at Mrs B E Power home on April 21 with two quilts nearing completion and all three spending a hearty amount of time. The next meeting was planned for May 5 hosted by Mrs Annie Sledge Wolsuni.

American Legion to Decorate Graves on Memorial Day

The American Legion will decorate the graves of veterans in Oakwood Cemetery on Memorial Day Sunday morning May 30. Ex veterans’ relatives may obtain flags by calling Commander A. P. Cox. Ex servicemen are asked to call Sanaamorcne for details and help. Relatives and friends may bring flowers to the cemetery at the hour.
