Poultry Clinic Scheduled at District Courtroom Today

County Agent Calvin Holcomb announces a poultry clinic at 1:30 this afternoon in the district courtroom. Dr. W A Boney Jr of A&M College will direct the clinic and perform post mortem analyses. all residents are invited to bring their chickens and turkeys.

20 Women Wanted For Red Cross Work In Comanche County

Comanche High School honors and graduation notes

Twenty years ago principal Ericany W. H. Carpenter announced Burton-Anton Rauhut as honor graduate among the girls, with Miss Johnnie Smoot speaking on Gold Mines and Miss Florence Harris close behind. The 355 enrolled at Comanche High. the 1924 class graduates included Ansa Maye Lane, Lenda Sears, Lilly Belle Lane, Lucile Lee, Annie Lee Pettijohn, and others. Proctor term closes with 19 graduates under R. E. Lee and D. H. Starling.

Major N G Beans Morris son of Mr and Mrs Earl S Morris of Sipe Springs was decorated with the Air Medal for meritorious achievement during serial flights in the Southwest Pacific Area from May 5 to November 24 1949. He participated in over twenty five operational missions including interceptions against enemy fighters and bombing lanes aiding recent theatre successes.

Asphalt Projects Planned on Highway 36 and 16

The State Highway Department announces soon start on asphalt paving along 8 miles of Highway 36 West from Hilton Burks farm on Sweetwater Creek to Sidney Line Springs road. The contract also covers 546 miles of Highway 16 from Comanche city limits toward Gelithwaite. Resident Engineer Park Hunt instom says work will begin shortly.

Legion Smoke Donors Support Cigarette Aid to Troops

The American Legion Ford drive thanks 600 citizens for contributions that funded about 130000 cigarette packs for servicemen abroad. The Lions Club adds 2500 dollars to supply 10000 more smokes to soldiers in Alaska, Europe, Asia, and the South Seas.
