Comanche High School announces 1975 valedictorian Betty Clendenen with 96.34 GPA. Salutatorian Mary Ann Hall has 96.33 and Lynwood Dukes is top male with 94.04. Betty leads in band and honors society. Mary Ann was Class Reporter. all three plan college study at Howard Payne Tarleton State University and pursue outstanding scholar awards.

Comanche High School Plans Advance Under Jefferies
Superintendent H R Jefferies reports architects are busy with Comanche high school planning. They work with teachers on curriculum and department sizes, then seek board approval on schematic design and final specifications. Bid letting is planned for August with bond sale targeted for June 11.

Fires Destroy House and Barn
Firefighters from the Comanche Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residence at 207 North Cole owned by Mrs Zelma Hutchins and her sons and to a barn at the Jim Shaw home. The house suffered total loss with occupants away and the barn storing nitrogen fertilizer also burned completely. Fire Marshal Dale Nowlin could not determine a cause for the house fire. The barn blaze was reported at 9 30 o clock Monday night and resulted in total loss of the structure and contents.

Comanche Youth Injured in Tire Accident at Service Station
14 year old Bill Ellis, eighth grader at Comanche Junior High, suffered multiple fractures and facial injuries when a tire blew off its rim at Texaco Service. He was treated at Comanche Community Hospital, then Brownwood Memorial, and later at Harris Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. His brother Joe said friends can send get well wishes during his several day stay.
