Blanton Opposes Haugen Bill Harmful to Cotton Farmers

Congressman Thomas L. Blanton condemns the Haugen bill in a telegram to the Chief, arguing it would help corn and wheat at the expense of Southern cotton. He warns of an equalization tax on cotton and a board unsympathetic to cotton producers, calling the Texas delegation unanimously against the measure. The piece also notes a May birthday gathering for Mr. G. W. McCullough and reiterates support for Southern farmers' cooperative marketing relief.
