Comanche County election results show runoffs and tallies
Comanche County voters completed primaries with runoffs in several races. U. S. Senator Ralph Yarborough led Democratic totals. Governor contenders included John Connally and Don Yarborough. Commissioner and sheriff races entered runoffs. precinct ones split with Officers Langdon and Sledge among top finishers. Official counts by W. I. Comanche Junior Rodeo Associa to Hold Annual Show
The Comanche Roping Club sponsors the Second Annual Junior Rodeo Assoc show June 11 12 18 with about 150 contestants from Texas Oklahoma New Mexico and nearby states. The event features bronc riding barrel racing roping and two $375 trophy saddles for top all round cowboy and cowgirl.

O'Brien Exhibits Painting in Austin Fine Arts Show

Water Bond Vote To Fund City Water Supply
On Saturday May 16 1694 voters will decide on issuing revenue bonds by the Upper Leon River Municipal Water District to build an intake, filtration plant and pipeline. The city will buy water for forty years with a renewable clause and taxes will not rise immediately though water rates will, with possible future adjustments as consumption grows. Eligible voters include poll tax payers or exempt property owners within city limits. Everyone benefits from a reliable water supply.

The fifth annual Coppini Academy of Fine Arts exhibit travels to Comanche May 8 through 10. Organized by Mrs. C W Gray and the Comanche Public Library, it will be at the Homemaking Cottage, open to students May 8, with a public showing May 9 from 2 to 5 pm. Dr. George W. Ewing professor of English at Abilene Christian College will deliver the baccalaureate address at Sidney High School auditorium Friday May 5 at 8 p.m. Ewing, born 1923 in Robstown, has lectured and taught across Texas and earned his PhD in American Literature from the University of Texas. He has five children and has preached in multiple communities while pursuing advanced studies.
