Comanche County Meet Hailed At Local High School
Comanche High School hosts the Comanche County Inter scholastic League Meet with a grounds picnic dinner. Rev. W B Holland of Fort Worth Baptist Seminary has been called to lead Comanche Baptist Church, formerly pastor at Clay Street Church in Waco. The Oil Belt Highway from Wichita Falls to Brownwood will pass through Comanche, slated as a major state route. Last Friday the Aurora Borealis was visible in Comanche for the first time in 40 years, sparking awe and speculation about the Second Coming or Camp Bowie reflections.

Three Charged With Wool Theft Near Comanche
Three men W O Barnett and Robert Reynolds from near Santa Anna and Demmeri Knox of Comanche face charges in Justice Geo C Wetzel's court for stealing a bag of wool from the Cunningham ranch south of Comanche. Arrests followed Friday night and Sunday. a 144 pound wool bag was identified at Lampasas as belonging to Cunningham.

The spring term of District Court will convene in Comanche Monday April 18 with Judge R B Cross presiding and Harry Fientge assisting the grand jury. The released list includes grand jurors and petit jurors from Comanche De Leon Dublin Gustine Sidney and Proctor among others. Several major cases are anticipated including the killing of R L Daniel in Comanche and the death of Thomas Floyd James.

Four Jersey Bulls Placed For Service
In Comanche district court room four Jersey Bulls were organized into four Jersey Bull Circles in cooperation with the Comanche Chamber of Commerce and the Farmers Produce Cheese Plant. Ernest Seay heads Section 1 with others in Sections 2 3 and 4. Seay elected president, Carl Roberts secretary treasurer. Bulls came from Farmersville Shelton Brownwood and Beattie herds. Service charge set at one dollar with seventy five cents to the bull keeper and twenty five cents to the organization.

Comanche took two firsts and De Leon three while Sidney earned one in the county tennis meet of the Interscholastic League last week. Mack Evans Palmer of Comanche won senior boys singles. Lola Dee Harris and Dorothy Lee Stewart of Comanche captured girls doubles. De Leon took senior boys doubles and junior girls singles. Sidney won junior boys doubles. Some events unfinished. championship to be decided today. Harold Little and J C Huett of Comanche won junior boys doubles second. Maxine George second in junior girls singles.

Jailbreaker Is Returned Here
Ernest McDonald who with a companion escaped from the Comanche County jail six months ago was captured near Lamesa by Sheriff Wid Spivey and brought back to Comanche to await trial. McDonald was plowing when arrested and made no attempt to flee. His companion Luther Medcalf of Brown County was jailed here on a sheep theft charge and has not been indicted. McDonald faced three charges including felony theft and two burglaries and was using the alias Bill Stephens at Lamesa.

Comanche Comyn Teams Win Interscholastic Debate
Comanche High School boys won first place in the boys division and the Comyn girls captured first in the girls division of the Interscholastic League debate held here. The local girls finished second after defeating Gustine in the opening round. The Comanche boys team included Harold Mehaffey and Ory McKinzie, while the girls featured Misses Francis Williams and Patricia Howard.

J. D. Ingram a 20 year old Gustine youth was arrested in Fort Worth by detectives for Comanche officers on a car theft charge. The 1933 Plymouth Sedan owned by C. L. Evans Gustine was stolen Thursday night and found abandoned in Dublin Friday. Deputy Sheriff Perry St Clair alerted Fort Worth to arrest him. he was returned to Comanche and jailed awaiting the April 18 jury action.
