Heavy grading machinery begins operation in Comanche County and dirt breaks in Gillespie as the Pecan Belt Highway project progresses toward Fredericksburg and San Antonio. The four engines can build about a half mile of road per day, weather permitting.

Will Hogg Revival Sought for Comanche Summer
City pastors hold meeting to invite evangelist Will Hogg for a county wide revival next summer. Dr Hogg accepts and plans to speak in Comanche around August 1 as congregations from Baptist Presbyterian Christian and Methodist churches ratify the plan. In Belton Texas the revival closes all shops daily for attendance with Evangelist Will Hogg of Memphis assisted by J T Williams and Earl Rodgers directing music.

Reverend Buzzby narrowly escapes robbery on Texas road
Rev. Buzzby, a Baptist minister and Ho ward Payne College student, reports a gunpoint robbery Friday night on the Hasse road between Brownwood and Comanche. A blond youth about 20, 160 pounds, demanded cash but left after Buzzby offered help, later a Fort Worth municipal employee Price Hunnicutt fired at the suspect on Tuesday night, same vicinity, as Sheriff Gilbreath investigates.

County approves 30000 for Highway 10 bridge work
The State Highway Commission allocated about 30000 to build necessary bridges and fills on Highway 10 with two allotments of 12588 and 17500 from Coman to county lines. Engineers plan final location plans within ten days before right of way and actual construction begin.

West Texas Chamber District Meet Set for March 28
Large delegations from Comanche and nearby towns expected at the West Texas Chamber of Commerce district meeting in Comanche.
