Mrs Hartman Dies After Long Christian Life in Texas
Obituary notes Sister Hartman born Amanda Safrona Mathews in Crawford County Georgia on September 4 1850. She married S W Hartman in 1868 and moved to Comanche County Texas in 1886. She joined the Primitive Baptist Church in Georgia in 1878 and later Willow Springs Church near Martins Place. Survived by nine children she faced death peacefully, having prepared for burial and even composed a song for the service. The funeral was held at Taylor's Chapel with Pastor Jones presiding.
