County War Meeting Set in Comanche March 17 Parade
The County Home Defense Committee sponsors a county wide patriotic meeting in Comanche on Tuesday March 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. Schools will close for the afternoon and pupils travel by bus. Major General Pierson authorizes several 31st Division units for parade drills and bayonet practice with Jap dummies on the square.

Escaped Reform School Youths Steal Car Captured Near Dublin
Two youths Thomas Prater and Edward Bennett escaped from the State Home For Boys at Gatesville were captured near Dublin by Sheriff Wid Spivey and Erath County officers. They had stolen a 1934 Chevrolet from K W Coleman and a 1936 model Chevrolet was found abandoned near Comanche. The pair are held in the Comanche jail.
