J. H. Wilder A. H. Wilder and R. C. Brumfield longtime Dublin piano dealers were sentenced to eighteen months each in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary on charges of withholding assets from their creditors. The trials were conducted before the Federal court in Waco.
Honorable Cone Johnson of Tyler, famed Texas lawyer and orator, is slated to succeed Hon. Joseph Folk as solicitor for the State Department at a $5000 salary. The Brownwood Bulletin reports Hon Tom Ball will launch his governor campaign in Brownwood on San Jacinto Day. Lt Governor Mayes will introduce him as crowds are expected to pack all roads into the city. Excursion rates reportedly to be offered for the event.

A four year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs Perry Carmichael, died from burns received at their Hicks Corner home four miles east of town after a apron caught fire near an open fireplace. The mother, Mrs Carmichael, was burned while trying to save him. Funeral held at Indian Creek Cemetery with Rev HL Clark officiating.
E A Wiesendanger, local observer, notes February precipitation a little over 0.50 inch with 0.125 on the 4th 0.375 on the 17th and 0.125 on the 27th. First 60 days of year saw under 1 inch rain. The 3rd was 0.1875 inch and the coldest day was February 7 with 10 degrees above zero.
W. Sanford a west town farmer told the Chief Exponent about profits from a single sow in seven months. The sow bore two litters, the first yielding 142 dollars and the second valued at 30 dollars, totaling 172 dollars. He promotes more hogs and peanuts and less cotton and credit.
