False Swearing Leads to License Fraud Arrest

Sheriff Waltrip returned to Granbury after Bert Onstott was charged with making a false affidavit to obtain a cretee license from County Clerk Z C Morrison. A man pretended to be M M Moore to license a couple, then Albert Woods and Eunice Cumble of Comanche county wed using that license. Onstott, arrested near Wilson, waived examination. bond set at 750 dollars and posted. Onstott is a married man.

Comanche has not yet named a Postmaster though many applicants pursue the job by quiet campaigning. Fire destroys home of G W McClelland near town

The eastern town suffered a Tuesday noon blaze that consumed the home of G W McClelland as he prepared to move to Gustine. He had packed household goods for an 11 o clock train and carried $1350 insurance on the property, with the fire likely starting from a flue.
