Brightmans Ship 40000 Pounds of Wool From Comanche
About 40 600 pounds of wool were shipped out of Comanche this week over the Frisco by Brightman and Son. Growers were paid an average of 22 1 2 cents per pound. The wool market, nearly suspended after the Supreme Court ruling on the NRA, reopened last week.

Tornado Strikes Stephenville Area Killing One Injuring Several
A twister hit eastern Stephenville Monday night fatally injuring J. R. Ellis and seriously wounding his daughters Anne Grace and Lucy as their home collapsed. The storm formed northeast of town and damaged the Smith Springs area and nearby homes, with vehicles moved by the winds. Other regions reported strong winds and uprooted trees but no additional tornadoes.

Two Arrested At Barn Warming On Liquor Charges
Sheriff John H. Reese detained Sam Ward and J. D. Couch Jr after a raid at the Ross Ranch near Hazel Dell Saturday night. Floods Cause Bridge Damage and Livestock Loss in Comanche County
Heavy rain across Texas spared Comanche County with 2.59 inches over four days and renewed flooding Monday. Bridges on Highway 81 between Comanche and Priddy washed out causing detours. South Leon and Little Mountain Creek bridges also failed. Livestock losses included 38 drowned sheep as waterways rose again after Monday’s shower.
