Edwards Named CHS Principal for 1977-78
Don Edwards, CHS football coach and assistant principal, was elected principal of Comanche High School for the 1977-78 year by the Comanche ISD Board on June 13. He has 17 years of teaching and coaching experience across Winters, Stamford, Iraan, Andrews, and Graham, and holds a BS from Texas Tech, a Masters from Sul Ross, plus a principal certification. He and wife Ruby have two sons. Also elected were several new teachers and staff, including Vocational Office Education, Title Reading, Auto Mechanics, and English positions.

Walker named Justice of the Peace in Comanche County
T N Walker of 1309 N Mary Comanche was appointed by the county commissioners to fill the vacancy in Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 after Ottis B Fields died of a heart attack at his home on East Grand. Walker, who lost to Fields in the 1974 Democratic runoff, has lived in Comanche most of his life with long residence in Sidney prior to moving here in 1967.

Dairy Worker Killed in One Vehicle Mishap Near Comanche
A 24 year old Comanche dairy farm worker Raymundo Ranjel died in a one vehicle crash 3.4 miles south of Comanche on FM 590. The accident occurred about 2:00 AM with the body pronounced dead at Comanche Community Hospital at 4:00 AM. Funeral services were pending. Ranjel, born February 28 1953 in Mexico, is survived by his wife Matilda a son Raymond and a daughter Rosario of Mexico his parents two brothers and three sisters.

Beef Producers Register for July Referendum in Comanche County
The Comanche County ASCS office opens registration June 6 to 17 for beef producers to vote on a beef research and information order. Eligible are anyone who produced beef in 1976, with one vote per production entity. A daily registration list will be posted June 6 to 17 and a final list June 22, with challenges resolved by Kenneth G. White.
