Miss Bessie B. Graham and Carl Altos Thornton were married Monday evening June 12 at the bride’s parents home in Comanche. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. White at 9 p m in a simple family affair. Both are natives of Comanche County. Graham a long-time primary teacher and Thornton son of former sheriff J H Thornton. The couple left that night to attend school amid many local congratulations.

Fire destroys church and parsonage in Blanket
A blaze Monday evening leveled the Baptist church and its parsonage in Blanket. Firemen feared it might spread, calling for extra equipment, but suppression succeeded and only the two buildings burned. The origin of the fire remains unknown.
