Charley Garner, son of Mr and Mrs Bob Garner, died at home in Tabian New Mexico on the second of the month after residing there only months. He was born in the county on April 4 1880, a member of the Chris church and Odd Fellows lodge. He was married to Willie May Ale several years ago and survives a wife, three or more brothers, a sister, a father and a mother. His death ends promising plans and paths toward his ambitions, with comfort found only in faith and the prospect of a reunion beyond.
Sanford Moody former chief clerk of the Driskill is appointed chief clerk of the Menger Hotel in San Antonio according to a dispatch in the San Antonio Light. The note praises his promotion and success as a Comanche boy. Bikins Tin Shop offers a home canning setup with tongs for easy jar handling at low cost.
Citizens commend the City Council and mayor for financing and executing street work. The rapid, high quality progress leaves streets in better condition than in twenty five years, with minimal cost. The Chief Exponent joins in congratulating the administration.
Roy Hammers and Olean Black traveled to Comanche last Sunday to obtain a marriage license and were wed at 5:15 p.m. in the Baptist Pastorium by Rev. Curlee. The couple, from DeLeon, receive best wishes from their families and friends.
Miss Winnie Bolding daughter of Mr and Mrs W G Bolding leaves Dallas for Washington DC where she accepts a position in the office of the secretary of war. The family praises her success and abilities.
The Comanche County Short Course in Canning opened with 150 to 200 women present. H Burks led the session with instructors Clara Rea Iola Hooker Lois Robertson Evie Sloan Artie Coley and Mesdames Kittle and Hickey. The Texas Power and Light Company provided two electric ranges to aid demonstrations and cooking free of charge.
The Comanche Summer Normal opened at 9 a.m. Monday June 4 with 90 pupils from ten counties and one student from New Mexico. Talks were given by J R Eanes Rev S H Austin Rev B K Tenney George A Curlee and faculty members as students began classes for permanent subject work and higher certificate tracks.

After last weeks notice of car loads of cans sold at cost to those in need orders pour in to County Demonstrator Gun and Mr Harris. Each car holds about fifty thousand cans and early buyers will get their requested amount as supplies will not last. Submit orders promptly to secure cans before they are exhausted.
A Comanche County patch near Custer yields a three foot two inch blackberry limb with 207 berries and evidence of 60 gallons sold in Sipe Springs the day the limb was found. The farm of Mr. Sanders shows productive improvements and the story promises further berry figures next week.
Burglary reported at Ford Station last Saturday night. Intruder gained entry by picking a rear door lock. P. K. Mackey discovered the break Sunday afternoon while securing personal articles. Items missing unclear, possibly accessories or tools.
Last Friday night the W O W Camp and W C Grove held an open house for members and families at the W O W hall. A local string band provided music and the evening was spent in informal sociability. Ice cream and cake were served to about 400 guests.
