Report on the 29th annual wool growers picnic in Hamilton with crowds at the depot for Colquitt day, Ex- Confederates leading the parade, speeches, and a grand ball. Praise for S. N. & S. T. A. R. officials J. M. Killian and R. E. Truett for arranging comfortable travel and special trains for dancing attendees.

The intended line should state that a governor elected with a legislature that shares the governor's belief would seek a primary that requires a majority of votes before a candidate’s name appears on the Democratic ticket regardless of pro or anti stance.
The young people Sunday school class at the Presbyterian church held a pleasant garden gathering on the lawn of the Holt home Tuesday. Hosts Mrs Ed Wilson and the class members organized games and served ice cream and cakes. The event concluded with good will and reflections on their work in the cause. Also an ad for Herbine promotes relief from biliousness and constipation with a 50 cent price sold by Paris Smith.
Frisco Good Roads Train arrives at two o clock in the afternoon on June 4 offering practical road materials samples and expert lectures on road construction. The event features a varied display and instructional talks for county partners.
The Comanche Hose Co. returned from Austin proudly holding the Connor cup won in a competitive hose race over sixteen companies. The team of four connected hose to a water plug and sprinted to finish fastest, witnessed by a large crowd of firemen.
Herman Nicholson four years old, son of Mr and Mrs Van Nicholson, was injured when a gate fell on his leg while he tried to open it in Newburg last Tuesday. The gate was not securely attached to the post and broke his leg between knee and thigh. The child is improving and expected to rapidly recover. Mrs Nicholson is daughter of Capt W T Dobbs of Comanche.
Rev Randolph Clark delivered sermons at Central Christian Church all week and the meeting closed Thursday night. He is described as a deep thinker and forceful speaker in the region, offering benefit to listeners. A Civic League Ladies meeting is set for June 8 at 4 PM in the Chamber of Commerce rooms to discuss important civic matters for Comanche.
Announced visit by Governor C B Colquitt to Comanche next Thursday for re election campaign. Speaking at the courthouse at 2 30 pm with a large crowd expected. arrival on the noon train and a welcoming delegation planned at the depot.
A grand reception at Mr. and Mrs. E. Greer’s newly built home last Wednesday evening drew a large young crowd. In honor of friend Rilen Moore, the elegant residence hosted a lively dance with music from several party members. Mrs. Rhoda of Ft Worth sang, and Marshall Greer helped entertain. The hostess’s hospitality left a lasting impression on Comanche’s young people, with another similar event anticipated.
