Sixth Annual Comanche Air Show Opens August 16
The Comanche Air Show returns for a sixth year at Comanche County City Airport on August 16 drawing thousands previously. Highlights include Fighter Squadron 202 led by Commander Jerry Beene from NAS Dallas with jets and RC model planes as a new feature. The event has no admission charge and is backed by local organizations and civic groups.

Mishap at Lamkin Proves Fatal for 46-Year-Old Driver
One car rollover on Texas 36 near Lamkin killed 46 year old Eugene Grady Vichery, electrician from Atlanta and Corpus Christi. Passenger Patrick O Neal Howell, 47, suffered back and neck injuries and facial lacerations and was hospitalized in fair condition. The crash occurred about 11 45 p m Sunday when the westbound Pontiac veered, struck a culvert and overturned. Police cited possible sleepiness as a factor. weather and road conditions were clear and dry.

Maddox Named to Comanche City Council
Robert Maddox was elected by the Comanche City Council to fill the unexpired term of Alderman John Huett. He and his wife Camilla moved from Memphis in 1969 and own a home at 206 North Irving. Maddox is active in Kiwanis, United Fund, county fair drive, and National Guard.

Comanche School Board selects bank depository and budget figures
On July 14 the Comanche School Board chose Comanche National Bank as depository for 1975 77 and authorized investing building funds in Treasury Bills and later Certificates of Deposit at 7.4 percent. They approved South western General Agency for Student Accident Insurance and set football coverage at 20 per athlete. June bills paid and June minutes approved. 1975 tax roll approved at 28 048 430 up 800 000 from 1974 due to new property. August rate to be set. Property bordering Band Hall priced at 10 384.95 for sale. A tentative budget projected 1 078 701 expenditures and 1 092 127 revenue for next year.
