Mild excitement followed a pursuit in Comanche as Sheriff Wid Spivey and deputies chased a suspect in an automobile theft. William James Nutt fled a east side residence but was captured by Deputy Perry St. Clair after crawling from a cane patch. The almost new Dodge Sedan, registered in Comal County and linked to Decker Motor Co of New Braunfels, was recovered. a Plymouth secured by a hot check was also traced. Nutt's arrest led to detention in the county jail with prior oil theft charges noted.

Presley Van Zandt 23 of Zephyr faces murder in the performance of a felony and a separate charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a Wednesday night crash that killed Mrs. Ethel Johnson Andrews 37 of Fort Worth. District Attorney D P Parker filed the complaint via Justice of the Peace George C Wetzel. Sid Whitten, owner of the car, is excluded as an accomplice. The local all-stars were defeated 7 to 1 in a night game at Stephenville Saturday.

Texans face cutbacks in old age pension rolls
