Downtown Comanche sees major deals on North Austin Street with three transactions. Frank and H M Vineyard buy a 143 foot front lot with the Joe Hicks Fruit Stand building. Bobbie Rambo buys the adjacent lot for a fireproof barber shop. C C Straley buys the Morris corner for a modern business building. Residential district expansion also begins with a Chaney addition and new street between A P Cox and W C House residences. Pfc Loyd Plummer of Comanche dies of wounds on Okinawa May 14 after thirty three months in the South Pacific. Survivors include his mother and sister in Comanche.

Energy Revival Opens Tonight at Energy Baptist Church

The annual revival at Energy Baptist Church opens tonight led by Rev. Bradley Hensley from New Mexico with preaching announced by Rev. Bob Graham of Proctor. Gail Isham, Sunday School Superintendent, confirms the schedule.

W A Frazier 73 Dies After Brief Illness In Comanche

William Andrew Frazier 73 died at home in Comanche Saturday night June 30 after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Monday at Comanche Church of Christ with Minister R C Ledbetter officiating. Interment was in Taylor's Chapel Cemetery. He lived in Beattie area before moving to Comanche and married Sadie Howard on March 3 1901. Survived by wife and three children Bert Frazier Olen Frazier and Mrs Floy Little. two brothers Henry Frazier and M P Frazier. He was a Church of Christ member for 43 years.

County Singing At Gustine Tonight

The Stamps Harmonettes perform at the County Quartett Singing Convention in Gustine July 6 at the Gustine Methodist Church. Convention secretary Mrs. Maudie Creek notes the quartet is well known and promises an enjoyable program for attendees.

Death of Navy Man Confirmed

Alton Henry Hall, Electrician's Mate first class, U S Navy, son of Mr and Mrs H A Hall of Comanche, died of beriberi on 19 November 1944 while a prisoner of war in a Japanese camp in the Philippines. The Navy confirms his death and notes death benefits forms will be sent to his father.

Newburg Revival Begins Saturday at South Leon Church

The South Leon Baptist Church in Newburg will start its annual revival on Saturday night at 8 30. Rev C R Hickerson of Brownwood District Missionary will preach during the week long revival. Aaron Little the last surviving Comanche County cowboy who rode the Chisholm Trail to Kansas celebrated his 90th birthday at home on June 25 with friends and kin. He remains cheerful despite bedridden illness and limited hearing, while relatives note his enduring good humor.

Comanche County Exceeds War Bond Quotas in Friday Rally

County War Finance Chairman Roland Miller reports Comanche County surpassed the overall War Bond goal of 375000 and the Series E target of 280020. A Friday rally at Camp Bowie, led by Major David Evans, pledged 61300 in bonds. The event featured the Puerto Rican String Band and attendees urged banks to report sales by Saturday noon. Comanche County Livestock Association officials set plans for the annual membership meeting and barbecue at Lake Fanes Park. The arrangements committee includes C. M.
