Last Saturday Lee McLaughlin owner of Star Wagon Yard was moving a shotgun when it slipped from his grip. The hammer discharged striking his right index finger and tearing it away while injuring the adjacent finger. Doctors attended and he was reported resting as well as could be expected.

Eleven Die As Tank Falls On Milwaukee River Boat
Milwaukee on June 30 reported eleven dead and at least ten injured when a forty ton water tank rolled from a dockside warehouse and crashed through two decks of the whaleback steamer Christopher Columbus. The vessel, in tow of two tugs, carried about 400 passengers bound for Chicago when the tank struck near the bridge, causing a panic and heavy damage aboard. University student Fannie Jones of Coleman Texas was among the injured with broken legs and internal injuries.
