Two Are Dead In Head On Crash Near Comanche
A Friday night head on collision on the De Leon Highway near the Tippett Oil Well killed Ineta Koonce 16 and Corporal Floyd A. Walker 20 of Camp Bowie. Six others were injured including two Hanson brothers and Mary Pierce. The wreck involved a pickup driven by Ineta Koonce and a car carrying seven travelers from Downing De Leon and Desde mona.

Bicycle Races Planned for Comanche July 4 Picnic
Hundreds of riders expected in Comanche County for a Saturday morning bicycle races event on the public square as part of the July 4 celebration. Boyd Anthony will oversee, aiming for 150 entries with prizes including war stamps and subscriptions to the Comanche Chief. Contestants meet at the Piggly Wiggly corner at 8 45 a.m.

Political Rally Here Saturday
A mammoth political rally will be held at Comanche Saturday morning July 4 beginning at about ten oclock and continuing until noon. W D Jenkins secretary of the Democratic Executive Committee will preside. Every candidate in the district county and precinct is invited to be present and take part in the speaking. If any candidate cannot be present he is asked to have a substitute speak for him. The speaking will be held in the district court room.
