County Agent W. A. Ruhmann urges many Comanche County farmers and ranchers to file income tax reports. The guidance lists cash expenses and income categories including hired labor, feed, seed, fertilizer, insurance, farm notes, taxes, sales of livestock and crops, and depreciation details for buildings machinery and livestock.
Comanche County collects scrap iron to support defense industries and the war against the Axis. Four carloads via Santa Fe, two heavy truck loads, and additional bon es and paper are gathered with Gustine staging iron for direct car loading. National Defense Dealer Sol Hoffman notes 700000 pounds collected to date and over $3000 paid, with prices set by County Defense Boards.
Miss Leve Roberson visited the Dallas market last week to purchase spring merchandise for the Roberson Sisters Store, aiming to refresh inventory and attract shoppers.

Texas Power and Light clerical staff are assigned to sell Defense Bonds and Stamps under local manager Henry Kemp. Employees receive time off to solicit sales. Mrs. Pearl Moore from the local office moved about $40 in stamps last week.
F L Spurlen of Eastland County profit from hogs reached 392 dollars plus 65 in show prizes in 1941. Meat production drives Extension District 7 led by Comanche County with Brown County top in meat output. 4-H clubs plan livestock shows in 1942 including Comanche County in March as soldiers demand meat.
In Manit County, 2509 poll tax receipts issued as of Thursday afternoon per Assessor-Collector Pettit. Voters must pay within two days to qualify for the 1942 elections. office hours extended to Saturday night to accept poll and property tax payments. The poll tax is $1.70 for adults 21 to under 60 as of January 1, 1941.
More than 350 people attended the annual Comanche Chamber of Commerce meeting at the courthouse on Tuesday night. A. P. Cox presided, Red Cross served the dinner, and Dr. Troy Cauley gave the main address amid music from the Comanche High School Orchestra. Six new directors were elected and a plan to rotate directors every two years was reaffirmed. The next meeting will elect officers for the year.
The Annual Shareholders Meeting of the Stephenville Production Credit Association will be held in Stephenville next Wednesday at 10:00 in the John Tarleton auditorium. Three directors will be elected to the five member board. R. E. Seay of Comanche seeks re election. The association serves nine counties and has over 600 stockholders. A 1941 loan total of 1 796 000 with no losses charged off is reported along with capital details and reserves. A talk on how the association can aid farm production during wartime will be given by a Production Credit Corporation official from Houston.
Postmaster J. R. Eanes announces a daily shift in Comanche mail delivery. The truck mail that previously arrived at 11:40 a.m. will now arrive at 12:30 p.m. starting Sunday February 1.
Miss Lillie Lou May left Monday for Denton where she re entered central Texas State Teachers College for further studies.
Mike Brumelow, TCU line coach and principal speaker, addressed the Comanche Lions Club banquet honoring the Bi-District Champion Comanche High School Indians. He spoke of democracy in football, citing El Paso High School teams with players of diverse backgrounds learning to work as one unit.
Comanche County reports only 165 dollars short of a 2400 dollar quota. The fundraising committee asks all donors and repeat givers to contribute as soon as possible to close the gap.

Mr and Mrs Joe Reid of Dublin visited Mr and Mrs Walter Jack Barret Sunday. The social call highlighted local family ties and friendly civic ties in the city.
The Fort Worth Press offers a bargain rate of $3.00 annually or $3.50 with The Comanche Chief, ending after Saturday. Sunday price rises to $6.00 per year. The paper is daily except Sunday and claims to be the cheapest in Texas for size and quality. Subscribe at The Chief office.
Mrs. Ola Dishmann of Jakehamon announces her bid for Precinct No. 4 County Commissioner becoming the first woman to enter the race in Comanche County. She lists Gorman Route 3 as address, is wife of farmer J. S. Dishman, and daughter of the late E. S. Merrick. She says a voter statement will follow.
The Comanche Lions Club contributed 25 dollars late Thursday to the Comanche County Red Cross War Relief Fund.
