Co M. Caraway of Comyn and De Leon leads the Comanche County Livestock Association sponsor of the Tenth Annual Junior Livestock Show opening Shurs Cay for a two day exhibition. The event features junior feeders and breeders and senior breeders with divisions and prizes including 4-H Club and FFA contests. Prizes range from 12.50 to 1 dollar across junior and senior divisions, with grand and reserve champions.

Boy Scouts Collect Paper in Comanche for War Effort
The Comanche Boy Scouts will begin paper drives starting Sunday February 4 and every sixth Sunday thereafter. A contract with Waco Salvage House pays 75 cents per hundred for magazines, 65 cents for bundled paper, and 55 cents for bundled cardboard. Rural residents are asked to watch for delivery instructions.

Lee Basil McPherson a Comanche high school graduate farmer and World War I veteran is appointed mail carrier on Rural Route 1 out of Comanche effective February 1. Ike Bilbrey Dies In Lubbock Hospital
Ike Bilbrey a former Tahoka resident died Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital after a short illness due to an intestinal disorder. Funeral services were held at Harris Funeral Home with Gare the Atkisson and Levi W Price presiding. Burial was in Tahoka Cemetery. Bilbrey born February 1 1889 in Mason County lived in Lynn County most of his life. He married Bessie Preston in 1915 and Vivian Beard in 1923. Survivors include his wife daughter from first marriage granddaughter his parents two brothers and a sister.
