Comanche Entries Win at Mid Texas Hereford Show
Comanche County Herefords excelled at the Mid Texas Hereford Association Show and Sale in Stephenville on Monday January 20. Dudley Mischief 26th topped the bulls at 750 dollars to T J Williams of Comanche, with another Dudley bull at 500 dollars to Barret & Sons Hereford Ranch. Miss CC Sunset the top female sold for 735 dollars to Frank Jones of Rhome, while Barret Hereford Ranch outbid the grand champ female by 235 dollars. Buyers included Flat Top Ranch Walnut Springs and Durham and Prather, both paying around 500 dollars for heifers and bulls from Dudley and Neblet.

Veterans Building Fund Drive Progress Report
The drive for 10000 dollars to complete a 20000 dollar Veterans Building is going strong. Commander J E Lightfoot of the local American Legion Post says 7000 dollars more is needed to reach the goal. More than 3000 dollars was raised in a week for a total of 13000 dollars. Work on the building, to be one of the finest of its kind in this section, is underway.

De Leon Hereford Named Champion Livestock Show
A 930-pound Hereford calf fed by De Leon FFA member Charlie Glenn Carruth was named grand champion at the 12th annual Comanche County Livestock Show held on Wednesday. The grand champion was bred by Dudley Bros. of Comanche. Bill Lane's Shorthorn entry bred by J. Doss Miller of De Leon was reserve champion. The event, in the new $6500 Comanche Livestock Building, drew more high-quality entries, says Wayne Evridge, president of the sponsoring Comanche County Livestock Association. In 1932 Clarence L Huett opened the Service Drug Store in Comanche Texas with a small stock and secondhand fixtures. The Southern Pharmaceutical Journal notes his growth into a full building, exclusive cosmetics lines, and franchises for Frigidaire Bendix Maytag Zenith Emerson Majestic and Easy Spin. Huett, 40, married Isla Isham in 1927 and runs a Baptist family business closing Sundays, with two children Peggy Jo and John Edwin.

W H Thate owner of the Comanche Piggly Wiggly bought one of the prize winning baby beeves in the Annual Junior Livestock Show held Wednesday.
