Comanche cotton receipts decline by 653 bales compared with last season per Public Weigher C F Denny. Court House Log Remains From Comanche County Building
The log portion of the original Court House at Troy on the South Leon River dates to 1856. It stood in what is now the Swan Hill community and remains as a historic relic of Comanche County.

Revered Methodist minister Rev L A Clark dies at his Zephyr home January 13 after eight months illness. Funeral services led by Rev C F Cole with help from Presiding Elder J E McClure and others, burial at Rock Church Cemetery near Stephenville. Born December 24 1869 at Bluff Dale, he served 30 years in the Methodist Conference, married Eula Sneed, survived by wife and two children Grady Clark and Mrs W H Dixon, Morris predeceased.

Hollywood obituary reports Rev. William B. Hogg famed evangelist and radio figure died after a major operation. Born in Hazehurst Mississippi he preached in Tennessee Arkansas and Texas before moving to Hollywood to lead a non denominational church and to star on radio as the Goose Creek Parson. Survivors include widow Virginia four daughters Marta Mildred and two others and son William B. Hogg Jr of Memphis.

New Auto License Plates Arrive for Purchase Soon
County issued 32 hundred 1937 auto plates received at the Tax Collector's office. They may be bought after February 15 and must be purchased by April 1. Plates have ivory background with black lettering, numbering 200 to 451 in sequence. Last year 3279 autos registered, plus 389 commercial trucks and 454 farm trucks.
