Medicare To Cost More In Hospital Bills
Medicare patients admitted to hospitals after December 1968 will pay higher shares of their bills. The first $44 will be excluded from Medicare coverage, up from $40. Deductibles rise to $11 a day after 60 days, and $22 a day for the lifetime reserve days 91 through 150, due to higher costs. Glen McNatt notes the change stems from policy announced by HEW. The rest of the text reports Christmas visits and airport remarks in Comanche and Abilene context.
