Uncle Dick Cunningham Cut by Wood Saw in Yard

An accident left Uncle Dick Cunningham with a severely mangled left hand after it was drawn into a wood saw while feeding a stick. A nearby physician attended him promptly, and he is recovering as well as could be expected. Dr. C. C. Klingman and family of Graham visited Comanche on route to Austin. He has received a unanimous call from Hyde Park Christian Church of Austin and plans to meet members with a view to accepting the position.

Work progress noted on Pecan Belt Highway

County Judge R A Luker and District Clerk Henry Gore inspected the Pecan Belt Highway Tuesday morning reporting good progress. Crews were removing a rock fence at the DeWitt place and in completed sections brush was placed to deter early driving before culverts are installed.

Cotton Association To Hold Meeting January Ninth

The Comanche County Farm Bureau Cotton Association meets in Comanche on January 9 to elect directors for the year and delegates to the state meeting in Dallas. State director W. W. Pitts of Wills Point is expected to attend and deliver an address.

Miss Susie Reed and Charley Woolsey, a popular Elm Grove pair, were married Wednesday afternoon at the Reed home. Rev. S. D. Hart officiated as friends and relatives gathered to witness the nuptials. The couple will reside in the Elm Grove community.

J E Hatcher announced the purchase of Wallace Garage and will take charge immediately. Hatcher has past connections in Comanche’s garage business and will continue operations as Hatcher Motor Company. Wallace plans a forthcoming public statement in the coming days.

Lions Hold Last Meeting of 1925 in Comanche

The Comanche Lions Club met at Ridgeway Hotel for the year’s final gathering. Guest visits by J. C. Boyd’s farewell, and remarks from Rev. Boyd and Dr. Klingman highlighted the evening. Funds from Christmas gifts were set aside for charity, with $200 remaining for future needs. The Cotton Belt and Texas A. & M. College will bring the Better Orchards Demonstration Train to Comanche January 6, 10 am to 5 pm, with radio programs and exhibits on orchard pests, pruning, spraying, and site selection.

Excursion Plan Toward Cotton Belt Demonstration Train

Soda Springs school leader Professor Robinson says an excursion is planned for next Wednesday to visit the Cotton Belt demonstration train. Brysonville and Vandyke school pupils may join, departing 3 30 p m to reach Comanche before the 5 p m departure.

County Agent J A Barton announces a Cotton Belt better orchards train visit to Comanche on Wednesday. A pruning and spraying demonstration is set for 2 30 in the afternoon at an orchard near town chosen for convenience. All residents are invited to attend.
