The Comanche Chief announces August 31 to September 1 1928 as the big Round-Up tied to the city’s 70th anniversary and homecoming with cowboy events and West Texas participation. It highlights local history figures, farm advertisements, and community notes including telephones, agriculture, and Lions Club milestones.
Mrs. R L Eaton wife of the Comanche postmaster and a local teacher was elected president of the White Point Community Club for 1960. Other officers are Mrs J C Preston vice president Mrs George Goosby secretary and Mrs Cliff Reynolds treasurer all of Comanche. The club meets biweekly, featuring quilting and potluck lunches, at the former White Point Church now used as the meeting place.
