Hearing set for 10:00 AM Monday after ten day publication on February 26 1962 at the County Courthouse Comanche Texas. All interested persons must appear with written answers if opposing. Citations issued by Fred Hall Clerk and Deputy Linda Rippetoe.
Georgia Goodson Cook files for divorce from David Cook in the S2nd District Court Comanche County Texas. The petition asks custody of three minor children Elizabeth Nicky and Pauline and child support of 50 dollars monthly per child plus court costs. The citation was issued January 29 1962 with return required within 90 days.
The First Methodist Church of Comanche sent 24 members to the Brownwood District Methodist Youth Fellowship Sweetheart Banquet on February 19 at the Hotel Brownwood roof garden. About 200 attended. Jerry Toca presented Lou McCullough as Comanche’s Sweetheart, delivering the invocation at dinner.
W D Stephenson 68 of De Leon died Friday February 9 at his home. Funeral services were held Sunday February 11 at the First Methodist Church of De Leon with Rev Roy Johnson officiating. Burial followed at De Leon Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Johnnie Lee Stephenson two daughters Patsy Ruth Barton and Norma Stephenson a son Lee Weldon Stephenson a brother Ben Stephenson two sisters Irene Nowlin and Veda Vaughn and three grandchildren.
The county judge issues a notice of an election to be held Saturday April 7 1962 for one County School Trustee in each of Precincts 2 and 4 and one County School Trustee at Large. Candidates must file applications at least 30 days before and ballots printed 20 days before. Polls open 8 AM to 7 PM at designated voting places.
