Comyn Boy Wins Championship Steer at Houston Show
Dave Floyd Jr of Comyn Co Manche County 4-H won the Boys Champion Shorthorn Steer at the Houston Fat Stock Show. The winning steer sold to Houston Packing Co for 25c per pound. Floyd also entered a second steer that placed second and sold to High Grade Packing Co of Galveston. Co M Caraway and Sons of Comyn sold the champion to Weingarten for 30c per pound.

The February meeting in De Leon discussed a March 11 1942 Junior Livestock Show inviting all county breeders to exhibit breeding stock for judging with ribbons but no cash prizes in that division. Prizes for high school livestock judging teams were set at 10 7.5 and 5 dollars. The association amended a 190 dollar reward to 100 dollars for evidence leading to arrest of livestock thieves. Twelve new members were reported and emphasis was placed on promoting commercial feeding.

Defense Council Holds Meeting in City Hall
