Dean of Comanche represented to a farm group about the Oils Division hearing on peanut types and imports for 1959. The goal was to assess if virginia type peanuts meet demand. he declined Farm Bureau affiliation and noted the Spanish type is grown commercially here. Funeral notices follow for Mrs. Barry and others.
Mrs J H Edwards, 76, native of Comanche County, died February 2 at her home in Comanche. Funeral services were conducted February 3 at Comanche Funeral Home by Rev S J Isham. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery. She was born in Comanche County in September 1879, celebrated 42nd wedding anniversary with her husband, and is survived by a sister, a brother, and many nephews and nieces.
Governor Shivers and Senator Johnson join President Eisenhower in declaring February Heart Month in Texas and nationwide. They urge public support for the 1956 Texas Heart Fund, praising medical advances and the role of voluntary contributions via community heart associations or by mail.
The Comanche County Pension group meets Saturday February 1 at 2 pm in the County Court Room Comanche. Guest speaker Howell Cobb and other speakers are expected. The Joyland Jubilettes will perform and a written speech from Price Daniels will be read. All censor citizens invited.

Out of town visitors attended the Barton services held here last Monday. The list includes numerous residents and guests from Ballinger San Angelo College Station Fort Worth Dallas Brownwood Gorman and Port Lavaca among others.
