Lynn Nabors state representative for the 64th district covering Comane Brown Coleman and Boones counties was named to State Affairs Insurance Conservation and Reclamation Commerce and Manufacturing and Criminal Jurisprudence. Death came Tuesday night at 1 o clock in a Waco hospital to claim Sergeant Donald H. Barnes predicts defeat of compulsory school consolidation
Lt. Gov. Ben Barnes of Austin said the Governor's Committee on Public School Education offered constructive recommendations but that compulsory consolidation will likely not pass in the Texas Senate this year. He noted districts under 2,600 students and other proposals may be ignored, while voluntary incentives may be pursued. Senate Bill 2 by Schwartz of Galveston and Mauzy of Dallas contains these recommendations and was referred to the Senate Education Committee.
