W Z Compton Superintendent of the Comanche Schools was re elected by the school board last Tuesday evening with a higher salary. He is a John Tarleton College and A M Texas graduate who previously served as principal and vocational agriculture teacher in the local high school. Virgil Chaffin High School Principal also re elected with a salary raise. Chaffin, an M A graduate of the University of Texas, came to Comanche from Denaville Consolidated School in Bell County where he was superintendent.

Aubrey Wilhelm a Daniel Baker College student won the District Golden Gloves final in Stephenville by knocking out Tete Wilson of Mineral Wells in the middleweight division. Dublin High Wins Cage Tournament Here Saturday
Dublin High School Lions captured the Comanche Invitation Basketball Tournament by beating the Sidney reserves 54 to 13. Sidney advanced to the final by defeating Sipe Springs 25 to 24 in the semifinals, then played the Dublin first team. All tournament selections included Kloster and Spruill, with Petsick, Gleaton, and Swann also singled out. A silver loving cup and golf basketballs were awarded to players.
