President Wilson Dies After Prolonged Illness

Former president Woodrow Wilson died at 11 15 a m on Sunday in Washington after a long battle with arteriosclerosis and hemophilia. His death followed a digestive disturbance and a gradual failure of heart action, with only Mrs Wilson Margar et and Dr Gray son present at the end.

Brownwood Lions to Entertain Comanche Club Monday

Brownwood Lions travel to Comanche for a luncheon where the Comanche Jonettes will organize and the American Legion Band will provide music. District Governor Perry will officially transform the Jonettes into Lions and deliver a famed roar to kick off the new unit. Expected initial membership is at least fifty.

A fire at Rauhut's gin broke out Tuesday morning during high winds. The blaze spread from an exterior fire and damaged property valued at about $500.

County League Meet Scheduled for Comanche March 28 29

The Interscholastic League county meet will be held in Comanche on March 28 and 29 with preliminaries in debate and finals at night. Saturday features junior athletic events, field events across classes A and B, and track events, ending with high school declamation finals and prizes for top placements.

Gustine Wins District Basketball Titles at Ballot Gathering

Gustine teams defeated Hasse 13 11 and Sidney 83 12 to claim both girls and boys titles. Comanche will represent the district at Brownwood with Gustine to travel for the meeting. Refereed by Davis of John Tarleton College, the event drew a large crowd and highlighted strong Gustine play.
