Rice University Accepts 222 Freshmen For 1969 Term
Rice University announces 222 freshmen admitted under the Early Decision Plan for fall 1969. The class includes 61 Houston high school students, 13 from nearby towns, 78 from other Texas towns, 68 from out of state and two from foreign countries. Regular applications are due February 1, with notifications in April. Tuition is $1,800 yearly. a fund aims to provide over $1 million annually in tuition grants. Sixty five students joined the American Heritage Club with 23 seniors 23 juniors 10 sophomores and nine freshmen. Band director David Venable and Sharon Beaty performed the Christmas Story.
