Weldon Edwards of Comanche, son of Mr and Mrs Roscoe Edwards, earns his freshman football letter with the Pollywogs at Texas Christian University. Hereford resident Sgt A C Potts Jr of the U S Marine Corps was killed in action in the Southwest Pacific. He had served in the Solomon Islands and was a nephew of J W Williams. His family had last heard from him there and he often visited Comanche County.
