Dwelling 19 Damaged In Blaze Sunday

Fire damaged Prentice Hodges residence just south of Comanche when a defective flue started the blaze around 11:30 AM. Neighbors with a bucket brigade and the Hodges helped control the fire. one room roof burned away and interior water damage occurred. The house, owned by Miss Camille Fleming, had partial insurance. Hodges’ water and smoke damaged furniture was uninsured.

By December 1 total tax collections across State County road and common school taxes reached 36609.61, more than 2.5 times the 14565.53 of the previous year. November eased from October with 16659.09 collected. 19952.09 the prior month.
