Fatal head-on crash kills six near Blanket Texas

Early Friday a head-on collision near Blanket killed Homer Tupin 27 Mrs. W C Magness 60 Treva Magness 25 and four Camp Bowie soldiers Corporal Richard Woolverton 22 Pvt Charles Wilson 22 and Pvt James Alexander 22. Two more soldiers Pvt Carl Pemberton 25 and Miss Maurine Dixon were treated for injuries. Funeral services held in Comanche and Stephenville.

Indians Battle Bowie For Bi-District Title

Comanche High School Indians clash with Bowie Jackrabbits in a bi-district showdown at Bowie. The game follows a coin flip decision in Fort Worth and tickets go on sale through Supt. W. Z. Miss Berta Goodson county chairman and C L Huett roll call chairman urge all Red Cross money be paid by December 15. Workers with unpaid funds should finish their tasks and report to Mr Huett promptly. Goodson says Comanche County must reach its $900 goal.

Gustine wins paving loop to Highway 36 in Comanche County

Mrs. Phil Bertram, Gustine mayor and advocate for Highway 36, notes a Texas Highway Commission decision to designate a 0.3 mile Gustine loop to Highway 36 with a $2500 appropriation. The town, despite unpaid taxes and lacking water or gym facilities, benefits from local leadership and public service management. Gustine lies in a strong farming region and continues growth.

Comanche To Bowie Special Train For Indian vs Bowie Game

A special passenger train will depart Santa Fe Station Comanche at noon to Bowie for the Comanche High School Indians facing Bowie High School in a bi district football title game. Return trips follow the game with tickets $2.90 round trip. sales advance by the school board.

Mrs A M Drummond Dies At 83 In McCulloch County

Mrs. A M Drummond 83 mother of Mrs Joe Wagner of Comanche died December 1 at her daughter’s home near Stacy in McCulloch County. Funeral services were held December 2 at Stacy Baptist Church with interment in Oakwood Cemetery Comanche. Born Emily Huffman June 3 1858 she was widowed three times and had five children including Mrs Wagner and John Drummond. She and her husband were longtime residents of Comanche County where he farmed and later ran a grocery store.

Mrs. Theodocia Ross Cash Hathcock, 77, died at her Comanche home after illness. Funeral service was held at Comanche Funeral Home with Dr. C. C. Klingman officiating. Interment in Oak Hill. Survived by children Dan Cash, Mrs. Claude ONeil, John Cash. two deceased sons Port and Dell. sister Mrs. E. H. Jones. brother D. T. Ross. 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
