Death in France Told of Sergeant Paul Little

Mrs. Paul Little of Bracketville received a letter from Lt. Harry K. Hopkins of Mechanized Cavalry detailing the circumstances of Sergeant Paul S. Little's death in August during an action near a hedgerow in France. The letter confirms his leadership and composure, notes his body was buried or reported missing, and mentions a monetary gift for Little's one year old son Warren Paul Little Jr.

Hunters Bag 19 Deer and 3 Gobblers on Llano County Ranch

A 12 hunter party plus a cook spent seven days at J. C. Click Ranch in Llano County. They killed 19 deer and 3 gobblers, claiming 17 deer and two gobblers returned home with them. The heaviest buck weighed 120 pounds by Earl Albin, second largest in the Llano area this season.

War Bond sales will be held Saturdays at Higginbotham Bros. & Co. in Comanche during the Sixth War Loan Drive. Local women’s clubs, led by Mrs. Vasco Lee, will operate the booths. Harris 57, Ex State A G Official, Dies in Texarkana

Horacias L. Harris 57, former State Assistant Attorney General and Bowie Miller war fund chairman, died Thursday in a Texarkana hospital after illness. He served as attorney for the University of Texas, county judge and county attorney of Comanche County, and district attorney of the 21st Judicial District. Harris authored The Golden Mirage and moved to Texarkana in 1937 from Austin to practice law. Surviving include his widow Hazel Randolph Harris, two daughters, a son, his mother, and two sisters.

Bonds Rally Nets $29000 At Comanche Courthouse Night

A rally at the Comanche courthouse Monday night yielded $29,000 in War Bonds. With about $40,000 previously bought in Comanche, the total reached $69,000 by Wednesday morning. Harley Sadler and Jimmy Allard led a strong program featuring a Camp Bowie military band and three veterans whose talks swayed attendees.

Funeral Rites Held For Mrs W S Hickey in Comanche

Funeral services for Mrs. W S Hickey 93 were held at the family home in Comanche with Rev. Walter Scott presiding. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery as four sons and two grandsons served as pallbearers. Surviving are 13 children, 39 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, with several in the armed forces.
