Sailor on survivor leave visits home from Navy service

Everett Breedlove gunners mate first class in the United States Navy is home on survivor's leave visiting his parents in the White Point area. Dove Season Opens Wednesday In Texas North Zone

The dove season for the Texas North Zone including Co opens Wednesday. Shooting hours run from half an hour before sunrise to sunset. The mourning dove bag limit is 10 per day or per pass. Shotguns may not exceed 10 gauge and must be permanently plugged to a three shell capacity.

First Bale Of Cotton Ginned Here Tuesday

A. J. Sliger from four miles east of Comanche delivered Comanche County's first bale of 1943 cotton. Ginned at Rauhut's Gin, the bale weighed 1454 pounds with lint worth about $108.20 and seed worth $21.07. A rough estimate of ginning costs and residue totaled around $7.44 for the Comanche Gals of this date, per Herman Rauhut.

Marcus O'Dell of Tulsa Oklahoma is promoted to sergeant effective August 15 194? He has served about nine months in the United States Army Air Corps and began as a corporal roughly three months after joining. He was first stationed at San Angelo and is the son of Mrs W D Crean of Coon.
